Giddy, I Tell You!

Last night I watched this and the euphoria has yet to wear off. I know it is still nearly a year until the movie comes out, but aren't you excited? I love Batman. I loved the old Adam West show that I watched as a child, I watched all the movies and I even suffered through the last one, but only out of my devotion to Batman and George Clooney, although the twain never should have met. I adore Christian Bale in the role. And now I have started to count down to the next movie. I mentioned this to a co-worker today and she started talking about how much she loved Spider-man. Which reminded me of how devoted Miss Parker is to Superman. I started wondering why people pledge allegiance to a certain superhero. I love Batman because of his duality. And possibly his wicked awesome car. But mostly I think the duality. I have long nurtured a sort of pseudo-theory about what our favorite opposite-sex superhero says about what we are attracted to and what we value. So who, dear readers, is your favorite superhero and why? And what exactly do you think that says about you?

Hum...what a thought provoking question. I'm definitely a batman fan. I don't mind the others, but in my book--Batman is IT! He's got cash. Let's face it---I'm all about the money, good looks, black car...& italian shoes! I'm totally shallow. Can't wait another 18 months.

I'm ashamed to say I'm not really into superheros, and I usually try to avoid superhero movies at all costs. What does that say about me? HA ha. :)

ever since newsies, swing kids and little women i was plotting a way to get christian bale to marry me... it didn't quite work out... but now i just lust after him in movies.

I too have tried to no avail to get Christian to fall in love with me. I'm so glad he's Batman! And since my husband likes him as an actor, I get to watch all the Christian Bale I want!! Anyway, I'd have to say Batman is the superhero for me. Definately that Dark Knight stuff. And I'm with ZB on this one, he's got cash, and a cool mansion!

Well, Superman/SuperTwin is my Number 1 (6'2, black hair, blue eyes, doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, always tells the truth) but Batman has always been Number 2 (hot, wicked awesome car, double life, rolling in cash). Plus SuperTwin admires CB as an actor and we watch Batman Begins regularly, so pretty much I'm an extraordinarily lucky girl all the way around.

Way to rub it in Parker. Not all of us can find our fav superhero's doppelganger. But maybe with you and SuperTwin's help, I can find my fav anti-hero's doppelganger, no?

I would fall in the same catagory as Esperanza. But if pressed my superheros would be the ones who created diaper rash ointment and stain remover. lol

Sorry, no rubbing-it-in intended. Once the local Lois/Clark contingent meets the Canadian-based version, our plan of yore will go according to...plan. Hee.

I was just teasing Parker. Besides, the current SuperTwin situation underscores my theory on hypotheticals and how sometimes they come true and now you are faced with all those questions/decisions I used to torture you with late at night whilst eating tofrutti rice dreamscicles and causing you to scream "I will NOT have Michael Vartan's baby." Good times.

hmmm. this is tough for me.. as I have MANY favorite superheros. I, too, love batman as you know. And I really love where they have taken it with Christian Bale. no more neon, PLEASE! I am in love with all the X-men heros.. even the bad guys.. LOVE IT. and superman is just so all american how could he not be your favorite. I'm afraid I don't have an answer. I love being carried away into all these stories.

Ok.. I also am very fond of Nacho Libre.. I know.. can't help it. I love his 'stretchy pants'!

Okay, so I don't like superheros, but I do like cowboys does that count? I have always have a fascination with the Jesse James thing. What does that say about me? And I WISH 3:10 to Yuma was not R rated becuase I am dying to see it, Christan Bale as a hot cowboy outlaw!

Maybe you could just keep your fingers crossed that the Brad Pitt movie about Jesse James isn't rated R, E. And someday TNT will show 3:10 to Yuma on tv all edited for content and what not. You can look forward to that day. Also, would Indiana Jones fall into the cowboy/adventurer categorie and if so, would he count? I mean, he isn't a superhero, but he is a hero.

And ditto on the Batman/Christian Bale thing, Heather. Also, no more codpieces pleas.
