Things I Am Currently Obsessed With

  1. Rockferry by Duffy.  She has a similar vocal quality to Amy Winehouse, but her songs don't remind you of how sad and lost the singer is.
  2. Coldplay.  I bought their new album Viva La Vida and I found a used copy of Parachutes, which I didn't own because when it came out I thought if 107.5 The End played the song "Yellow" one more time, someone would have to die.  But I've spent the past few days listening to the four albums and I really like them.  Check out the band's appearance on The Daily Show here.
  3. Making chocolate chip cookies.  I can't leave the cookie jar empty.  My secret recipe involves changing the 2 tsps of vanila to 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of almond extract.
  4. Catching up on the first season of Burn Notice on hulu.com.  I caught an episode at my aunt's earlier this month and now I'm hooked.  Everything looks so pretty on my Mac!
  5. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.  I loved this book.  I'm thinking of reading it again, just to enjoy the details that I rushed through to finish the story.

I'll have to try the almond extract trick in our cookies! Our fav. hot chocolate recipe calls for it as well. Yum!

Delightful! I was just looking for another good read. And if it is worth rereading then it is one I am looking forward to! I am going to hunt it down tonight.

I have been wanting to get Coldplay's new album. It sounds great. Joel and I LOVE Burn Notice. We are so excited for the New series to start in about 2 weeks. We watched the series finale last night. Can I say oh so good. It's actually one show that Joel and I both like. There aren't to many of those. Did you notice that the girl is from Wild Hearts can't be Broken?

I told you Burn Notice was awesome! So glad you've been able to catch up on the first season. I'm so stoked for season 2!! That almond extract trick sounds good. I'll have to try that and substitute splenda for sugar and see what happens.

How did you run into this rockfeary person? I admit it do like one Amy Winehouse song. Haha, not the one that is "Rehab." :D
Chocolate chip cookies sound to die for right now. *craving*

I love almond extract in anything, so I love it in chocolate chip cookies. You'll have to tell me what you think, Heidi & Aquamarine.

Marta, I highly recommend the new Coldplay album. I think my favorite song on it is 'Lost.' It has a great baseline. I did know that was the girl from Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, but I think she could stand to a) put on a bra once in a while and b) eat some carbs. But I do enjoy the show. I'm looking forward to the premiere. It will give me something to watch on Thursdays.

E, Duffy is on the radio here with her song "Mercy." I randomly found her song "Warwick Avenue" while watching videos online at Yahoo music. Then I found her album Rockferry on sale. I love it and I highly recommend it. She sings more about relationships, whereas Amy Winehouse's songs are all about drugs and sex.
