Where Have All the Attractive, Slightly Unhinged Men Gone?

Let me just direct you to Romancing the Tome's wonderful post on the Masterpiece Theatre adaptation of Jane Eyre that concluded last night. I heartily agree with all their sentiments. And I have to admit I did throw a small internal temper tantrum last night about not having my own Mr. Rochester.

I want a Mr. Rochester!!!! Well, with an arm and two working eyes! But the scene in the book anyway where he pretends to be a fortune teller....soooo romantic!

Yeah, I'm re-reading the book because of the show and I just finished the fortune-telling scene. What is it about damaged men that appeals to me so? Even the tv characters I love are damaged men. House, Jim Halpert, Dean Winchester. What does that say about me? Oh, and the new adaptation of Jane Eyre sort of plays down the physical damage at the end of the book. His hair is long, so you can't really see any ear damage, he has some burn scaring on his left cheek and his hand is sort of scarred and wraped in gauze. So all in all, nothing detracts from the attractiveness of Toby Stephens.

Dean Winchester is totally hot!! Who wouldn't love him. Bummed because there's still no sign of our cable service picking up the CW channel! Blast!

CherBear, you'll just have to invest in the DVDs when the come out. I saw the Season 1 DVDs on sale for $22 at Target a week or two ago.
