In Which I Make A Sweeping Pronouncement

As one who has endured a singularly craptastic 2007 (which is gratefully coming to a close) and facing a 2008 full of unknown variables AND my 30th birthday, I decided I need something to which I could look forward. That something is going to England. I'm aiming for two weeks sometime in the middle of August and right now the itinerary includes London and Stratford-upon-Avon, because the RSC is doing both Hamlet and Love's Labour's Lost in the 2008 season. I think I already mentioned those are two of my favorites. I'm totally open to suggestions for other points of interest from anyone who wants to come along (Parker, get that passport already!). Let me know if you are seriously up for this, because I think it would a great adventure and I'd like to share it with friends.

I wonder if travel with Jr. will be possible by then . . . . Maybe not. Then again, I'm sure Mr. Big would love to have some quality time with his firstborn.

Sounds like so much fun!!! I might have to jump on the bandwagon next time, though. France has thoroughly drained me. But I hope you have so much fun!!

Oh man . . . oh oh man. I just booked a ticket to Hawaii for March, but I am so very tempted by this! I already know I couldn't do two weeks, though.

GO YOU!

Well, two weeks is kind of a best-case scenario. If everyone could only do one week, it would still be awesome.

Also, Hawaii sounds wonderful!

So. Jealous. I'm still trying to convince Chad to switch to International Business. I feel like I'm destined to end up living there again...sigh...

Being unemployed makes things like that a little difficult. As well as 2 children & a spouse...so, I'm gonna say...I'd love to, but alas, I cannot. Unless....we come into some serious cash, leave the hubby and kids at home & che sara!

You'd better tell me where you've been already, then I can make some suggestions.

So far as Shakespeare is concerned, I went to the RSC's production of "A Comedy of Errors" a month ago in Nottingham. I didn't know the play until I read a summary in the Wikipedia on the day. I wasn't sure how funny it would be. There were some baudy bits, but the performance by the actors was extremely good and it was very funny - laugh out loud funny.

I would love an insider's perspective, BlackJazz. I've mostly been places in the South and West of England, and the Glaswegian side of Scotland. I haven't really formulated much of a plan outside actually flying there and going to the RSC shows. I remember seeing Comedy of Errors at the Globe when I was in London and I thought it was fun. Glad you enjoyed it!
